By accessing or using YourTaxPilot ("the Service"), operated by YourTaxPilot ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
YourTaxPilot provides AI-powered tax information for educational purposes. It is not a substitute for professional tax advice from a licensed accountant or tax preparer. The Service is designed to help you understand Canadian tax concepts, not to replace a qualified professional.
To set clear expectations, here's what YourTaxPilot does not do:
When using YourTaxPilot, you agree to:
The information provided by YourTaxPilot is for general informational purposes only and should not be construed as professional tax, legal, or financial advice. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional, such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or licensed tax preparer, for advice specific to your individual circumstances.
To access the Service, you must create an account and purchase credits or a subscription plan. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable except as described in our refund policy.
Yearly prepayment is available at a 15% discount. Unused credits do not roll over between billing cycles.
Monthly subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis and auto-renew each billing cycle. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing cycle or unused credits.
You agree not to:
All content on the YourTaxPilot website — including text, design, graphics, logos, and AI-generated responses — is owned by YourTaxPilot or its licensors. You may use information from the Service for your personal tax planning, but you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourTaxPilot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.
In plain language: we do our best to provide accurate information, but if you act on something and it turns out to be wrong, we can't be held financially responsible. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information based on current CRA guidelines and Canadian tax law, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information provided. Tax laws change frequently, and the Service may not reflect the most recent updates.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. See also our Disclaimer for important information about the limitations of AI-generated tax content.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia.
